feasibility study

The initial feasibility study is the foundation for a wind energy project. The desktop study provides an initial estimate of wind energy resource and predominant wind conditions, a site survey identifying infrastructural requirements and limitations, and makes recommendations for project scope.

resource estimate

First estimate of the local wind resource based on wind data sourced from nearby weather stations, specialist providers, or supplied by the client.

Summary of mean wind statistics, including identification of predominant wind directions.

Estimated ranges of annual energy yield (kWh) for selected wind turbines.

site assessment

Evaluation of local features affecting the wind resource, including terrain, vegetation and buildings.

Identification of sites of interest for wind monitoring and/or turbine installation, based on predominant wind conditions.

Site assessments integrated with Master Plan documents for long-term planning purposes.

project scoping

Preliminary recommendations made for wind turbine installation.

Proposal for initial installation scenarios, including turbine numbers and placement, for client consultation.

Schedule of future work, including recommendations for wind monitoring and detailed site modelling.
