visualisation

In both urban and rural areas, wind turbine developments may require consultation with a range of stakeholders, and we understand that the visual impact of a small wind turbine installation is important to developers and clients. As part of our services we are able to produce digitally rendered or photo-realistic visualisations of wind turbine installations, based on 3D models and photographs of the site. Accurate, high quality, perspective images of the completed installation in its context can provide confidence in the project aesthetics, and speed up stakeholder consultation.

visual impact

Visual impact is a key consideration for many wind turbine installations.

Based on the 3D model of the local terrain, buildings and trees developed for the micro-siting study, the visibility of an installation can be quantified over a broad area.

The visual impact study maps the apparent size and number of wind turbines visible to an observer around the installation and over surrounding areas.

shadow flicker study

In the built environment, it can be necessary to understand how nearby buildings and surrounding areas are affected by the shadow of the proposed wind turbine installation.

The shadow flicker study quantifies the maximum possible number of hours per year where an observer may experience shadow flicker, mapped at over the surrounding area, as well as over the façades of relevent buildings.

digitally rendered images

3D models of the site can be used to produce high quality digital renders, including scenarios of turbine siting.

Images generated from CAD models of existing and planned developments.

photo-montage

Accurate photovisual impressions are generated from photographs taken on site.

Images created as part of visual amenity studies for client and community consultation.
